Next Class on the 7th of April!
For more than 10 years, Iris has been teaching at various music schools students or various age groups starting from 5 years to adults with differing needs, requiring a keen focus on the pupil and their specific demands. Iris always accompanies her students on the piano, supports them and prepares the students for example for their main concert performance at the end of the school year, school choir or other event.
Iris assists more advanced singers and soloists by offering them specific technical advice to help them discover their solo voice.
Iris gives singing guidance for the musical performances as well as some stage presence techniques, like breathing and posture.
In one-to-one lessons Iris works individually with everybody e.g. developing the students own repertoire, preparing to sing as a lecturer in the church.
Iris teaches pop tunes of all kinds and with it goes microphone technique with is an essential tool for performing with a band. She accompanies her students on piano at all times and work with the students and a professional band, reinforcing their confidence in what they had learned and so that they also start to understand what band leading feels like. Getting her students to perform is very important to Iris and so she organises a Vocal Night for her students once a year.

What students say about Iris:
"After just a couple of classes, I know my confidence to express myself through the lyrics has transformed my performance thanks to your encouragement and direction." - female adult student
“I have always wanted to have singing lessons and I feel very fortunate to have found a wonderful teacher in Iris Ederer. The lessons have exceeded my expectations and transformed the way I think about music. Iris’ enthusiasm for music is infectious and her open minded attitude is particularly appreciated. The lessons are great fun and I can honestly say that Iris has helped me to experience music in ways that I did not think I was capable of.” - male adult student
"Iris is a lovely teacher. The lessons are interesting and fun and she always gives 100%.
I have really enjoyed my lessons and hope to be back for more." - female adult student
"In the summer I lead children’s Pop-workshops such as “Be a Star” in Birkfeld (Austria) for children from 5-12 years old. Teaching them mostly English speaking tunes, simple canons and happy songs where the children could also be active and jump. Basic rhythm exercises like clapping hands and snapping fingers on 2 and 4 are major goals!
Being choir leader and solo coach at one-week children’s musical production for 5-10 year old kids who would perform with head-set microphones for the soloists.
I work as a vocal coach for further education for school music teachers at a weekend workshop providing new song material and giving singing technique advice.
At Pop choir and solo singing workshops I was leading different vocal groups where I also work as vocal coach in Tyrol (Austria) and Southtyrol (Italy).
I organise a Jazz, Pop and Gospel Choir workshop for children and an adult Jazz and Pop Choir and Solo workshop called “S(w)inging Weiz” in my hometown where adults could get to know how to work in a band giving them fresh ideas."
